Now this is the easiest thing ever. It involves two ingredients and it takes about 2 mins to make. Honestly this is genius!

It makes the perfect homemade ‘foodie present’, although obviously vanilla essence will not float everyone’s boat, but if you have a friend/family member who is a real foodie, who loves cooking/baking (or likes to think they do) then this is perfect.

I love vanilla essence but most shop bought ones have never been a near an actual Vanilla Pods and are filled  with artificial flavours and sugar . The ones made from actual vanilla or sugar free are incredibly expensive for the amount that I use them (Brownies, hot chocolate, trifle, etc).

Obviously you only need to use a very small amount of this so you could make this batch and then divide it into several smaller bottles.

Servings 350 ml

Ingredients

  

• 350 ml Vodka
• 4 Vanilla Pods

Instructions

 

• Split the vanilla pods in the centre and place in the vodka bottle.
• Leave for 5-10 days until it turns a toffee brown colour.
• You can remove the vanilla pods once or leave them in.
