The festive season has begun! And despite the fact that this season is mainly about baby Jesus, tinsel, wrapping paper , magic and carols, this season always seems to make me think of chocolate!
I spent many a childhood Christmas waking up to 1kg of Dairy Milk in my stocking and relishing the fact that I was allowed to eat chocolate for breakfast and it seems not much has changed. Well, not much other than the fact I currently don’t eat grains, refined sugars or processed food in order for my body to heal.(Heres why)
So do I have to say good bye to chocolate for breakfast, advent calendars and have a chocolate-less season? Thankfully not, due to my creative genius and much mess making I have created homemade chocolate – perfect for those of you, who like me, are wanting to eat healthy even at christmas!
This recipe is easy with no weird tempering, faffing or bizarre ingredients, just sweet dark creamy chocolate goodness! I have been using it in my advent calendar and for those days when only chocolate will do. This recipe has take much trial and error but is finally delicious and ready for the festive season.
You can pour it into moulds or flat dishes and slice it up , or create your own enormous bar of it if you wish!
Its also filled with good fats that could help boost your metabolism, some raw honey filled with healing enzymes and is amazing on its own but would be a great base if you wanted to add fruit and nuts, cayenne pepper or some mint for your own peppermint chocolate supply.
It is also good for any mildly lactose intolerant people out there as butter has a low lactose content, for those of you who want to avoid additives and E numbers found in normal chocolate, or for those of you who want deliciously dark chocolate without the high price tag!
Healthy eating needn’t be hard nor does it mean being a weirdo who never eat chocolate again – hooray!
Enjoy!
