Yes I did just say chocolate smoothie and yes it is good for you.
This creamy chocolate wonder is filled with the amazing health properties of raw cacao, almond milk, maca and other healing gems. I have had this for pudding few times and as a snack and it works perfectly for both. It is a I deliciously practical way to get your body/hormone balance back.
We have talked about maca powder, ditching cardio exercise, eating well, using chaste berry extract and resting, but if that all seems a bit overwhelming then this chocolate delight is a great place to start. Before I give you that wonder I thought i would give you a bit of an update on my own attempts to get this body of mine back on track. As I always follow my own advice and never give out advice that I am not willing to take myself.(Find out more here)
Over the last month I have ditched all forms of high intensity exercise (running, spin classes etc) and focused on weight training 3-5 times a week whilst also doing yoga/pilates/stretchy type things in my garden. I have been having maca powder regularly, using chaste berry and getting as many early nights as I can! I am eating more coconut oil and eat whenever I feel hungry (this is not a new thing!)
Today I visited the doctor and it seems that something is happening in my old hormones ( I am believing it is good), he said I should carry on as I am and see what happens in the next few months and offered me artificial hormone treatment (grrrrrrr – no thank you!).
So far I have had one pain free period, have managed to lose inches from my hips and thighs without trying, and have had the longest lie in’s ever (I slept till noon one day!). I am not there yet but my body is healing and I can’t say I am complaining about my love handles shrinking! (Hormones imbalance can really effect how the body stores fat and its ability to lose and gain weight).
So wherever you are on your healing, weight loss or healthy living journey – just keep going. Miracles happen all the time and they are glorious, but so is making daily powerful choices that prioritises our god given health and bodies.
And drinking a chocolate smoothie is hardly a hardship now is it??
